Dear Liberators,

Navigating the work of challenging white supremacy in the workplace can often feel like walking a tightrope. The stakes are high—not just professionally, but emotionally. While it's natural to want to preserve relationships and stability, it’s important to ask ourselves: Why would I want to maintain relationships in an environment where white supremacy and oppressive systems persist?

This is a deeper call to go beyond anti-racism and into anti-oppression, because white supremacy is just one facet of a larger system of hierarchy and domination. The real work is in challenging supremacy culture in all its forms, whether it's racism, sexism, classism, ableism, or other oppressive forces at play.

In this week’s Liberation Lessons, we’ll explore how you can begin challenging these systems in your workplace, asking hard questions, and acting with intention. The LIBERATE framework will help guide you toward action that challenges supremacy, while maintaining your integrity and commitment to liberation.

Let’s LIBERATE

LIBERATE Framework:

Learn – Begin by asking yourself where hierarchy and power imbalances exist in your workplace. Beyond white supremacy, where do you see systems of oppression manifest? Are decisions being made that prioritize certain voices, while others are silenced or sidelined? Understanding the full scope of supremacy culture in your workplace will give you a clearer picture of the change that’s needed.
