Day 26 of 100 days of community

Healing as a Collective Process

Welcome to Day 26 of 100 Days of Community!

Today’s conversation was all about collective healing—what it truly means, how we cultivate it, and why it is essential for sustainable liberation.

Healing is often framed as an individual journey, but true healing happens in community. It requires vulnerability, accountability, and a commitment to repair. It also means recognizing that healing is not just about feeling better—it’s about making things better.

We shared stories, unpacked the difference between trauma bonding and real community, and explored how mutual aid is about more than just survival—it’s about connection and collective care.

Lessons & Community Input

Healing happens in community. It’s not about simply surviving pain but transforming it together.
Mutual aid isn’t just about food and resources—it’s about emotional and psychological care.
Healing requires accountability. There is no real repair without it.
Trauma bonds are not community. Coming together over shared struggle without healing can reinforce cycles of harm.
Joy is essential to healing. We don’t just heal by naming harm—we heal by making space for joy, rest, and play.

One of the biggest takeaways today was that we must resist the urge to center our pain over our power. Many communities come together in response to shared harm, but if we don’t make space for joy, growth, and accountability, we risk staying stuck in the trauma.

We don’t heal just by talking about the problem. We heal by creating solutions, showing up for each other, and committing to transformation.
