Day 50 of 100 days of community

How to Maintain Momentum Post-Liberation

We made it—halfway through the journey. Fifty days of deep conversations, community-building, and collective reflection. That’s no small feat. If you’ve been here since day one, I see you. If you just joined us, welcome. No matter when you entered this space, you are part of something bigger.

Liberation isn’t a final destination—it’s an ongoing, evolving process. The work doesn’t end when we dismantle oppressive systems in our personal lives, workplaces, or communities. In fact, the real challenge begins after the initial breakthrough: How do we sustain liberation long-term? How do we prevent ourselves from slipping back into survival mode?

Supremacy culture conditions us to chase a “win” and then move on—urgency culture, perfectionism, and fear of open conflict keep us locked in cycles of burnout. But real liberation isn’t about fighting endless battles. It’s about building sustainable, life-affirming systems that keep us rooted in our values.

Today’s conversation explores what it means to maintain momentum in liberation work—not as a reaction to oppression, but as a commitment to long-term transformation.

Today, we ask how to keep going when survival mode is no longer the primary motivator. Because this work isn’t just about dismantling what doesn’t serve us—it’s about building something sustainable in its place.

“When I was in my 30s, I realized—this rat race never ends. I did everything I was ‘supposed’ to do, and I still felt like something wasn’t right. That’s when it hit me: capitalism is a scam. They want you locked into a 30-year mortgage so you’re indebted forever. They want you constantly chasing a ‘win’ that never actually arrives.” (00:10:04 – 00:10:59)

“But here’s the thing—once I got out of survival mode, I had to figure out what was next. We don’t talk enough about that part. You break free from the system, and then what? How do you maintain a liberated life when you’re no longer fighting just to exist? That’s the real challenge.” (00:11:12 – 00:12:00)
