Hello Desiree, I found you in Threads and I am so happy I have. Thank you for the education you have provided as it is sorely needed, at the very least for myself.
Ahhhh thank you for finding me elsewhere! That makes me feel so special. I am thrilled to be doing the work I love to do and couldn’t be doing that without people like yourselves that are willing to show up, so thank you 😊
Thank you for doing this work. Just a note that I clicked through to your self-guided course and noticed a typo in the title, it reads “curse” where it should read “course”
I live in a new-to-me community, beautifully diverse with white children being the minority at school, and am determined to forge new groups of activists. Ones that truly show up for one another. Talking to other moms at the park, at school, we can band together. Besides offering practical and emotional support, maybe creative inspiration, what causes can we agree to uplift? I just became a monthly donor for the Loveland foundation, offering mental health services and retreats to black women and girls. It’s the least we can do if we’re able. Don’t give up, don’t stop, start anywhere. Thank you for this important message.
A friend led me here. I have a lot to learn and unlearn. I resent the American history I was taught (and reluctantly studied). A thought occurred to me while I was reading your first post: is America which - except for its Indigenous - came here from elsewhere by choice or force - different from all other countries in its challenges? Who else (w/out great detail) shares the burden of overcoming extreme inequities aimed at various communities? I mean, in such large numbers?
I have a lot to learn/unlearn. Btw, although I "look" white, and I'm sure I've benefitted from "looking" white, I am still painfully aware that by many I am considered "other". And the world currently (apparently) feeling it is open season to hunt, hurt, or kill Jews. The space that has widened between Black and Jewish communities hurts, because I was raised in a home that fought our town's segregation back in the late '50's, and felt allied with civil rights groups.
I am glad you are here and thankful for your awareness and willingness to unlearn. As far as your conditional whiteness and the very valid fear and concern about being Jewish in this land at this time I hold deep space for that as it should not be this way.
I have written on those things and made videos and I do hope we can close the gap a bit more between our communities as we both know what it is to be hated and hunted.
I just love you so much, and I am so grateful you are here. Your existence gives me hope. It's an honor to call you my friend.
I feel the same about you my friend and we can and WILL make the shift needed to ensure a liberated world. Love you so much! Hugs to you and yours
Community is our strength. And the only acceptable liberation is liberation for all.
ABSOLUTELY!

Thank you!!! I will fix that tomorrow
Is there a date scheduled for the live interactive workshop?
December 14th with more dates in 2025

Oh. Wow. You are giving language to feelings I've had and longed to express. I just love your work.
I’m so glad to be able to to so! Thank you for being here ❤️
